Walker & Meier Consulting is led by retired fire-service professionals Scott Walker and Joe Meier, whose combined experience represents nearly six decades of fire-service leadership, operations, wellness advocacy, and commitment to the responder community.
Scott Walker
Scott Walker has served in the fire service for more than 30 years, the majority with the Phoenix Fire Department. He rose to Executive Assistant Fire Chief before being named Fire Chief of the Waco Fire Department, a position he held until his retirement in March 2025. Today, Scott is focused on the health and wellness of first responders, serving as Public Safety Liaison for the Vincere Cancer Center and working with fire departments nationwide to develop practical solutions for the health challenges facing their people.
Joe Meier
Joe Meier spent 25 years in the fire service, 20 of those with the Phoenix Fire Department. He retired in January of 2025 to pursue ventures focused on the health, overall wellness, and longevity for first responders. Joe served as a firefighter paramedic, engineer, captain, division chief, and retired as a deputy chief. His passion now is to use his experience to improve the careers of those still serving and those who will eventually answer the call.
